Transport yourselves back to your your O Level biology lesson where you stood a stick of celery in blue ink.

Its kind of like that but way better. Apparently, the tip of the stem is quartered and each quarter is stood in a different colour dye which is drawn up by the plants natural action. The rest is magic.
